Bookkeeper

Pelican3 Consulting is a tech-driven CPA firm where accounting expertise meets cybersecurity, automation, and AI. We are looking for a Bookkeeper with 2 or more years of bookkeeping experience to join our Poland, OH office and grow with a firm that builds its own tools and refuses to do things the old way just because that is how they have always been done.

What you will do:

• Maintain the books for a portfolio of small and mid-sized business clients, including transaction coding, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger upkeep
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor bills, invoicing, and collections follow-up
• Prepare monthly and quarterly close packages and financial statements for review
• Support payroll processing, sales tax filings, and year-end 1099 preparation
• Handle cleanup and catch-up engagements for clients whose books need to be brought current
• Communicate directly with clients to gather documents, resolve open items, and answer questions about their numbers in plain language
• Work alongside our tax, advisory, and technology teams to automate repetitive bookkeeping tasks, and bring your own ideas for what should be automated next

What we are looking for:

• 2 or more years of bookkeeping experience, ideally supporting multiple clients in a public accounting or outsourced accounting setting
• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification or experience with Xero is a plus
• Comfort with modern cloud accounting tools and a genuine interest in technology. You do not need to code, but you should be the kind of person who asks why a manual process still exists
• Clear written and verbal communication. You will talk to clients, not just spreadsheets
• Detail-oriented, deadline-reliable, and honest about what you do not know yet
